PREAMBLE
“Action for Peace and Justice” / Acção para a Justiça e Paz – AJPaz – is an association that has for objective to build a Culture of Peace, based in the Respect of the Rights of all the People, in a Parity, Inclusive and Participative Democracy, in Social and Cognitive Justice and a Balanced Environment capable of giving and to preserving Life.

We live under a patriarchal and capitalist system that oppresses, exploits, dominates and excludes an immense majority of Women and Men of the decisions about their future and that denies them their past. Of this immense excluded human mass, we want to give a privileged attention to Women, Young Women and Local Communities, wherever they are.
These identities, made subaltern – but that, in reality, are the majority of the World – are marked and attained by violence and poverty, deprived of their freedom and rights. In spite of all the difficulties, they resist every day, building alternatives and, in this way, they are peace makers.
We propose, therefore, to build, practise, support, value and make visible the alternatives that, here and in all the places, contribute to build a world where dignity, diversity, rights and freedoms of all persons, Women and Men, are considered the biggest wealth and the best guarantee of future.
“Of our feminists struggles and of those our ancestors carried out in all the continents, new spaces of freedom where made for us, four our children, and our granddaughters and grandsons, who, after us, will walk on Earth.”
(World Charter Women for Humanity)

METHODOLOGY
Our methodological approach is based on principles and values that guide the forms and the contents of our reflections and actions.

They are they:
• Parity
• Non-violence
• Non-victimization
• Democracy
• Emancipation
• Autonomy
• Solidarity
• Valorisation of diversity
• Social and Environmental Sustainability
• Dignity

The “unique thought “does not only want to take from us the right to imagine Another Present and Another World Possible; it also makes our life become grey, colourless and emptied of affections. Our methodological approach wants to put again aesthetic and emotions in the centre of our social and political actions.

NETWORKING
To participate actively in networks is for us, not only a strategy, but also a fundamental human and political value of which we do not give up. Networking has to be able to cross all social movements, all territories and all the issues that are on out agendas.
We know, and we accept it with humility, that our main issues and concerns are only some of the many that mobilise and give life to struggles and resistances of persons and groups.
For all this, also our actions have to be open, shared and in solidarity, because all of them are part of the building of Another World that is Possible.

The Networks with whom we work more systematically are:
• World March of Women
• ANIMAR – National Platform for Local Development
• Collective for Peace and the Demilitarization – World March of Women
• Portuguese Coordination for Fair Trade
• European Social Forum
• World Social Forum
• Portuguese Social Forum
• Portuguese Platform of the NGO for Development
• Poro’rokas of Peace and Democracy – Transcontinental Informal Network
